Now that we have viewers from Poland, France and Brazil, we felt it was a good time to bring the progress of the pony to the attention of our followers (or well traveled follower).
First we had to pick up the car trailer, and as it was Brad's first time he required the moral support of both myself and Luke. I'm sure i speak for us both when i say that we both jumped at the chance to possibly watch the pony fall from the back of a trailer or jack knife into the back of the car, however part of us both was relieved when everything went smoothly.
There were trailers as far as the eye could see at the Matilda near Strathpine shopping district. I had asked for number 29, but unfortunately we were given number 33. A spanking blue with brown (rust) highlights trailer. With the help of the service station assistant we soon became one with number 33 and the trip begin.
The next stage of the journey was to drive back to Aspley and prepare the Pony for its journey.
Now, while it would appear that I was doing nothing to help this process, in fact as the photo journalist i played what some consider to be the most important role of the day.
To Do list. It would appear that the roof requires painting not once but twice
This required a number of things, including fitting the over sized air filter to Brads custom intake setup and testing the Pony's performance by way of second gear 5000rpm clutch drops (performed by professional drivers on a closed road). Somewhat unsurprisingly the pony was not up to the challenge in its current guise. This was most likely due to the poor support from the small crowd which had gathered at the sound of the lumpy Hyundai factory twin cams in their usually quiet suburban street.
So with the smell of burnt clutch spreading throughout the neighborhood it was time to load the pony on number 33.
So with the pony sitting proudly atop number 33, it was time to get back into the falcon and head to the roll cage man.
Stay Tuned for Progress on the Pony Express.
Hahaha good times really! Well put and nice photos.
